About Us

Welcome to Temple Israel,

We are a congregation of 760 families. Our clergy are there to comfort you when you have lost a loved one and rejoice with you when you celebrate the simchas in your life. We are supportive of our interfaith families and helpful to them as they make Jewish choices.  We strive to bridge tradition and modernity, so that worship links our precious history with fresh approaches to spirituality. We commit great time and energy support lifelong Jewish learning. We are dedicated to tikkun olam, doing our part to heal the world.

What is Reform Judaism?
Reform Judaism has enabled the Jewish people to introduce innovation while preserving tradition, to embrace diversity while asserting commonality, to affirm beliefs without rejecting those who doubt, and to bring faith to sacred texts without sacrificing critical scholarship.

Reform Judaism affirms the central tenets of Judaism - God, Torah and Israel - even as it acknowledges the diversity of Reform Jewish beliefs and practices. We believe that all human beings are created in the image of God, and that we are God’s partners in improving the world. Tikkun olam — repairing the world — is a hallmark of Reform Judaism as we strive to bring peace, freedom, and justice to all people.
